Morning Out Back
Sat, Jun 02 2007
I've been getting set to write about how a hard winter had taken a toll on some of the flora—how the iris never bloomed, how the fig tree is a ghost of itself, how a couple of the cherry trees are struggling, how the old plum tree seems to be losing its nascent fruit. And at the same time, other plants are prospering: the roses have never done better, all the bulbs came up early, the struggling camellia is showing lots of new growth.
But sometimes, on a calm morning when the sun is just barely filtering through the trees, it's best to let the yard should speak for itself.
