For the first time in way too many years, today I dug out some drawing paper, some Conti pencils, and... uh, people-watched. Like, in a public place. Drew quick sketches of kids and shoes and hats and stuff. I'm no good at it anymore - been way too long. But it's the first time I've done anything non-consumerish in public and not had someone come up to me and ask something like "Do you know any Dylan?" What a relief!

Of course, I get home to a phone message: "Hey, we're going to be playing in a Tully's here in Kirkland, just jamming and doing some tunes: wanna bring your guitar and play? Gimme a call!"
