OK, a note to all the non-musicians who may be reading this (you know who you are!): when I say I'm "rewiring some pickups," it does not mean I have suddenly acquired a small fleet of vehicles by Ford, Chevy, Dodge, or other vendors which feature things like trailer hitches, bed liners, extended cabs, V-10 diesel engines, or "Hemis" (whatever the hell those are), and that I'm doing electrical work on them. No: "pickups" are the little bar-like things with magnets (like these) which sit under the strings of electric guitars, OK? (Yes, there are other kinds of guitar and instrument pickups, but I don't want to further confuse anybody.)
