Agreeance II
Sat, Mar 08 2003
I hate to do this, but props are props: I sorta slammed Limp Bizkit's Fred Durst for using the word "agreeance" during impromptu anti-war mumbling while he had the podium at this year's Grammys. Turns out agreeance is a word, still occasionally in use in Australia, and is listed in the OED as a deprecated term which basically vanished in the 18th century. So Fred didn't technically commit a grammatical faux pas any fifth-grader would know to avoid.
Of course, I remain utterly unconvinced Mr. Durst had any idea of this at the time. But I gotta have faith, right?
