The news of Cary's death is a complete shock.
Throughout my school years and now professionally in the real world, there have been two or three people whose articles and reviews in MacWorld and MacUser magazines I've consistently looked forward to reading. Cary's writings could always be trusted in giving me precise facts and even-handed opinions over a wealth of subjects.
He was an incredible person who, for many reasons, was always a mile ahead of most of us. I admired him specifically for his leadership and notability in the technology industry. He exemplifies a level of achievement that I strive for every day.
Cary Lu will be sadly missed.
