In January 1984 I rushed out and bought my first real computer, an Apple 128k Macintosh. Yet in spite of all its ease of use and design beauty, I was initially plauged with problems, a compete lack of software, and very few sources for reliable information. I was beginning in fact, to think that I really should have bought a IBM Compatible with a green screen.

I then obtained a copy of Cary Lu's The Apple Macintosh Book which was so well written and so beautifuly designed, that not only did it help me solve my inital computer problems, but it also introduced me to many more possible creative uses for this powerful new tool. Never again did I regret my choice in this tool that has since had a major influence in my life. For that, I deeply thank Cary Lu.
