Cary Lu Remembered |
29-Sep-1997 I never met Cary Lu in person, but I wish I had. Through his articles, books, and usenet posts, he helped shed a little light on this or that issue of technology, clarify the unclear, and in general, educate us all. He seemed to have a gift for taking a complex issue and making his audience understand it without becoming condescending. I am not familiar with his work in other media, but I suspect ours is not the only field to feel a loss. A great man has fallen. A little more light has gone out of the universe. And somewhere, someone is opening a Lu book, or reading a Lu article, or watching a Lu film - and learning. May God be between you and harm, and in all the empty spaces you must walk. |
